Britain's noisiest children are sent to the School of Silence to prove that they can be quiet. They are put through intensive silent training in which they face a range of hilarious challenges that are all designed to make them laugh, scream and shout – but what they must do is keep absolutely silent!
The brief required a headmistress and teachers with strongly drawn personalities, which would be enhanced by their clothing. The costume designs reflected a combination of iconic school images with zany and humorous contemporary twists. Characters include formidable headmistress Faluna Gobstop, bombastic military man Colonel Kittens and badly dressed nerdy old-world schoolmaster Mr Gross.
