Relic: Guardians of the Museum

CBBC. 13 x half hour historical action children's gameshow.

Set in the British Museum at nighttime, Relic involves a group of children on a quest to defeat the evil Dark Lord and his henchmen. If the children succeed in their tasks, they will be awarded the golden scarab and will become 'Guardians of the Museum', but if they fail, they will turn into relics themselves and remain in the museum forever.

Relic won the 2010 BAFTA Children's Award, in the category Entertainment.

A complex brief required original designs together with historical costumes ranging across a wide spectrum. This included the grey ghostly look for 'dead' tour guide, Agatha, and the eclectic fusion of Egyptian, Aztec, Samurai and Star Wars-style elements for the formidable Dark Lord.

The period costumes for the Vision sequences were faithful and accurate reproductions of the museum exhibits, as were the costumes used within the games section of the programme.
