Urban Myths: Bowie and Bolan
Made by Lion TV for Sky Arts. A twenty-two-minute film about the first meeting in the 1960s of the then unknown musicians, Davie Jones (later Bowie) and Mark Feld (who became Bolan).
Wary of one another at first, they strike up a rapport, comparing musical knowledge and engaging in a contest of coolness.
Features Luke Treadaway as Bowie, Jack Whitehall as Bolan and Adrian Edmondson as their manager Les Conn.
The costume brief involved capturing the sense of style of these two musical icons in an earlier incarnation, before they became famous and developed the distinctive glam rock looks they were known for in the 1970s.
